Do I have to register for the event?

Yes, you must register before 10:00 a.m. ET on the event day to participate. You can do so from the Home Page.

 

Once I register, how do I access the live event?

Thank you for registering! Once you register for the event, you can log in and select the breakout sessions you would like to take for the event. Please note, you can enroll and add sessions to your schedule days before the event or the day of the event. The sessions will not be available to access prior to the event day. On the event day, once logged in, you will be able to access your sessions or view all available sessions on the top toolbar. 

 

Does the event cost anything?

This is a free event hosted by the Ohio Department of Education.

 

What are the technical requirements to attend virtually? Do I need to have a Zoom or Google Meet account? 

All you will need is Internet service! Once you register on the learning management system (LMS), you will log on, using the same link. On the event day you will be able to access your breakout sessions (called courses on the LMS). When live presentations are used, we will use WebEx by Cisco. No account for this service is needed. You will simply get a link to join the live event via WebEx.

 

How do I register for a breakout session?

You will go to the top tool bar and select “Course Selection.” From here you will be able to view all courses (breakout sessions) that you can enroll in.

 

How do I find the courses/breakout sessions that I enrolled in?

You will go to the top tool bar and click “My Selected Courses.” From here you will be able to view your personalized courses that you added to your schedule for the event.

 

What if there are two courses/breakout sessions that I want to take but they are at the same time on the event day?

Please enroll in any courses that interest you. The courses will be open for 14 days after the event date for you to complete additional items.

 

What if I can’t tune in all day or I miss a session? 

No problem! We understand that you are busy, and you may have to step away at times. All sessions will be recorded and available for replay at your leisure afterwards. However, we strongly encourage you to attend the live event when possible so that you do not miss any important connections and conversations! Breakout sessions (courses) will be available for 14 days after the event day.

 

What time does the virtual conference take place?

Please review the tab at the top of the page for the schedule of events for the day.

 

Can I register the day of the event or anytime during?

Absolutely! You can register any time before the event or the day of the event up until 10:00 a.m. ET.

 

What content will be available on-demand?

All breakout sessions and keynote presentations will be available on-demand for 14 days after the event. The on-demand option helps support flexible learning by allowing you to experience sessions you might miss during the live event. However, we strongly encourage you to attend the live event when possible so that you do not miss any important connections and conversations!

 

Will there be live networking opportunities?

Networking and engaging with presenters and other attendees are important parts of a conference experience. While all sessions will be pre-recorded, there will be the opportunity to utilize the “Community Chat” feature on all breakout sessions/courses. This is a place to ask questions or comment on the presentations. Roundtables are live interactive sessions limited to 15 participants.

 

Will there be Question and Answer sessions for the events?

Yes! There will be a live Q&A session for the last 10 minutes of each breakout presentation on June 9. Please find the information to join these live Q&A opportunities under the session you want to join.

 

What Credits will you offer?

Participants will receive contact hours. Each course is one contact hour. The system tracking will show what sessions you attend. You will get 1 contact hour for each course you complete. Typically, 10 contact hours equal one CEU.

 

Will I get a certificate showing my completion of sessions?

Yes! You will receive a personalized certificate with your information you used at registration: First name, last name, and the contact hours you completed.

 

How will you send me my completion certificate?

It will be emailed to you with the email you signed up with at registration.

 

How long will it take to get my certificate of completion?

It will take up to 30 days after the event closes.

 

How do I complete a course to 100%?

When watching the video on the course there will be a tool bar at the top of the screen that states, “COMPLETE AND CONTINUE.” You must click complete and continue to successfully complete the course after you view the educational information.

 

What if I miss the opening remarks or the keynote session?

These sessions are a combination of live and recorded video. Live sessions will be recorded during the presentation. The event management team will upload them to the online education sessions under their titles within 24-48 hours of the live session being completed.

 

What if I need to cancel my registration?

We will not cancel any registrations that have been created for this event. If you cannot make it on the day of the event, the education courses will be open and available for 14 days after the event to help fit it into your busy schedule.

 

What if I have technical issues?

Any technical issues can be submitted to the event management team to address the issue personally. To send issues you will do the following: individually

· When you are on the learning management application with the event information and courses; the top right corner will have a gray person logo. Click on this, it will create a drop down.

· Once activating the dropdown to your profile, you will then click the “Contact” button. This will populate a page that you can put your subject of issue in, along with your message. The event management group has a team monitoring these items in real time and will reach out to you quickly once submitted.

· Please make sure you monitor your email you signed up with, as the reply from the team will be sent to this email.
